In the evening of September 23 2016, the 50th independence anniversary celebration of the republic of Botswana was held at the Kempinski hotel in Beijing. Based on the invitation given by Botswana embassy in China, the secretary-general of our foundation, Mr Zhang Zongwu attended the independence day conference, our foundation would like to extend our gratitude to George for the invitation, and sincere blessings to the republic of Botswana and its people. Both foreign and Chinese guests attended the reception including the vice chairman of the standing committee of National Peoples Congress, Mr Cuo, the Africa department of China’s foreign ministry, Mr Lin Song Tian. Director of the Africa embassy, Mr. Sikonina Victor, his excellency ambassador and representatives of international organizations and people from all over the world.
The reception
During the conference, His Excellency made a welcome speech, He first expressed a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the conference. During his speech he mentioned that, Botswana is a southern African country, abundant in mineral resources, and hopes that there will be a friendly cooperation between Botswana and more countries. He told the story about the historical development of the republic of Botswana and it glorious achievements today,hopes that the establishment of the two countries (China and Botswana)deepens cooperation in more areas, and expressed good wishes for their bilateral friendship. The secretary-general Mr Zhang Zongwu had friendly communication with Mr Ambassador, he mentioned that our foundation will keep our good partnership with the Botswana embassy, as it has always been. Our foundation would like to thank the embassy of Botswana for their support in our activities.Our foundation will continue to work hard to help Botswana embassy find suitable Chinese partners, to build good communication platform for both sides, bilateral economy and trade to promote common development . Ambassador George spoke highly of our foundation for promoting China-Africa economic and trade exchanges and contributions, with aid of the foundation platform, we look forward to multilevel and more cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, our foundation will envoy from other countries, and carry on the good communication on behalf of the Chinese enterprises. Mr ambassador said that he will continue to support and participate in the activities of the organization. Keep information flowing, mutual exchange of needed goods and continuation of our cooperation.
The Independence day conference ended pleasantly. This conference enhanced our friendship with Botswana, Our foundation will work strongly with Botswana embassy, in order to promote the establishment of friendly exchanges between the two countries. Under the help of chairman Jinping’s “top ten cooperation plan”, our foundation will work harder to help Chinese companies enter Africa and broadening their channels,achieve business link between Chinese and African enterprises and achieve a economic and trade cooperation. We believe that under the joint efforts of both sides (Chinese and Africans), China-Africa cooperation will be more fruitful. China and African countries,including Botswana’s profound friendship, will also have a long history that will last forever.
