President Zhang Yi attended the 54th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda

 On September 7^th, invited by the Ambassador of the Embassy of Uganda and his wife, President Zhang Yi and Mr. Yu Shining, the Director of International Liaison Department attended the 54^th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic the Republic of Uganda. H.E. Mr, Zhang Ming, the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as ambassadors and diplomats from different countries were invited to this event. Representatives from Chinese industry or commerce associations, companies in different fields and big media also attended. 

H.E. Mr. Charles Madibo Wagidoso, the Ambassador of the Embassy of Uganda delivered a welcoming speech and expressed his gratitude to all the guests. He mentioned that today was the special day to celebrate the 54^th anniversary of the Independence Day as well as the 54^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with China. The people in Uganda have made jointed efforts and struggled for a long time since the independence of 1962, and gained great achievements today. At the same time, he also showed his thanks for the Chinese government as well as Chinese companies and Chinese people for their consistent support. He hoped that Uganda and China could further the cooperation and keep a longstanding friendship.

President Zhang had a pleasant talk with the ambassador and showed thanks for the support from the embassy. Meanwhile, the representatives of our foundation also had a good talk with diplomats from other embassies and representatives from Chinese companies. They spoke highly of the important role our foundation played in the communication and cooperation between China and Africa. They also expressed the willingness to support our foundation in a long run and the interest in the practical dialogue with our foundation in the future, which manifests the open idea of consolidating the cooperation, deepening the friendship, accelerating the dialogue and exploring more cooperative opportunities. Our foundation will spare no efforts to meet their needs and provide a broader platform for the China-Africa cooperation.  

Students from the Uganda Students’ Association in China gave wonderful dance and singing performances, which created a cheerful atmosphere for the reception.

This reception accelerated the friendship between the Embassy of Uganda and our foundation, and created good conditions for the open communication between nations, companies and governments, as well as described a promising blueprint for the win-win cooperation between China and Africa.
