Our foundation attended the 52nd Anniversary of the Independence and Diplomatic Relations with China of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia
On the evening of October 28th , invited by the Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia, President Zhang Yi and Mr. Yu Shining, the Director of International Liaison Department attended the 52nd Anniversary of the Independence and Diplomatic Relations with China of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia. H.E. Mr, Zhang Ming, the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as ambassadors and diplomats from different countries were invited to this event. Representatives from Chinese industry or commerce associations, companies in different fields and big media also attended.
H.E. Mrs. Winnie Natala Chibesakunda, the Ambassador of the Embassy of Zambia delivered a welcoming speech and expressed her gratitude to all the guests. She said that today was the special day to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the Independence Day as well as the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with China. The people in Zambia have struggled persistently for a long time and gained fruitful achievements today. At the same time, she also showed her thanks to the Chinese government for the consistent support and assistance. She hoped that Zambia and China could deepen the cooperations, make frequent contacts and keep a longstanding friendship.

Mr. Yu Shining had a cordial talk with the ambassador and expressed thanks for the support from the embassy. Meanwhile, the representatives of our foundation also had a good talk with diplomats from other embassies and representatives from Chinese companies and established good relations with them, which laid a solid foundation for expanding further communication and cooperation. Meanwhile, wonderful performances created a cheerful atmosphere for the event.
The Republic of Zambia is an inland country of central and southern Africa, with a land area of 750,000 square kilometers, and has high level of urbanization owing to good infrastructure and transportation. It has rich mineral resources, especially copper of vast reserves and good quality, which endows it with the name of “ The Country of Copper”. Therefore, the mining industry becomes the main pillar of its national economy. At the same time, agriculture is also one of the important sectors, which accounts for about 18% of gross domestic product. Manufacturing industry have started late, yet developed rapidly in recent years. The total output of food, beverage, tobacco, textile and leather industries take up about 75% of all manufacturing output values. Apparently, there is a large potential in the economic and trade cooperation between China and Zambia.
This reception came to an end in a pleasant atmosphere, which accelerates the friendship between the Embassy of Zambia and our foundation, and builds up a communication bridge between nations, companies and governments, as well as describes a promising blueprint for the win-win cooperation between China and Africa.
