Our foundation successfully hosted “One Belt and One Road” Economic and Trade Salon in Beijing

    On the afternoon of 29 March, our foundation successfully hosted “One Belt and One Road” Economic and Trade Salon at Landmark Towers Hotel in Beijing. This salon aims to respond to President Xi’s call, and facilitate economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Chinese companies and “Belt and Road” countries. Participants included diplomats from Russia, Indonesia, Egypt and totally 17 “One Belt and One Road” countries and African countries, as well as representatives from Chinese associations and enterprises from all fields.

    Our President Mr. Zhang Yi chaired the salon. He firstly delivered a welcome speech on behalf of our foundation, and extended his warm welcome and sincere appreciation to those who attended the salon. Under President Xi’s “One Belt and One Road” Initiative, our foundation will keep on forging close ties with “Belt and Road” countries, promoting exchanges, and deepening cooperation, in order to boost common prosperity in economy, trade and culture among Europe, Asia and Africa. He pointed out that we cannot ignore Africa when promoting “One Belt and One Road” Initiative, especially the strategic position of Egypt. African countries like Egypt is not just the terminal of Maritime Silk Road, but also a starting point for Africa to access China. We will continue to help Chinese companies better understand the investment climate and policies of  “Belt and Road” countries, and assist them to expand overseas markets. Last but not least, our President also called for joint efforts to work on the implementation of “One Belt and One Road” Initiative for mutual development.

    Mr. Bao Feng, the General Manager of China-Africa Agriculture Investment Co., Ltd, gave a speech on behalf of Chinese enterprises. He expressed the gratitude to our foundation for providing this platform for exchanges, which brings convenience for Chinese enterprises to explore overseas markets. He then briefly introduced their business scope, emphasizing the importance for agricultural cooperation and mutual development between China and Africa as well as “Belt and Road” countries. Last but not least, he said they will make use of their competitive advantages in talent, technology, equipment and management to promote international agricultural cooperation, in order to reach complementary development and win-win results.

    Ms. Elizani Nadia Sumampouw, the first secretary of the Embassy of Indonesia, made a presentation. She stressed that the robust economy was a foundation for attracting foreign investment, and its strategic geographical position could act as a spring board for Chinese enterprises to access Southeast Asian markets. There are a wide ranges of fields in investing Indonesia, including infrastructure, manufacture and tourism etc. , which warmly welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest.

    Mr. Peter Deak, the Commercial Officer from the Embassy of Hungary, gave a presentation. He pointed out that Hungary was ranked as “The Best Investment Destination” all over the world last year. Its highly-educated labor resources is the foundation for its development of knowledge-based economy. So far, many Chinese enterprises including the Bank of China and Huawei have all opened branches in Hungary, and its government will also offer many incentives for its foreign investors.

    Mr. Sathiane Phouthabandid, the Minister Counselor from the Embassy of Laos, gave a brief speech and presented a video. He mentioned that Laos and China have established traditional friendship and Laos will provide subsidies to protect Chinese investment, following a vivid video which introduced industrial parks in Laos.

    Mr. Emmanual Stantzos, the Minister for Economic and Commercial Affairs from the Embassy of Greece, gave a presentation, and introduced the general situation of Greece, advantageous industry and investment climate, and mentioned a few projects in infrastructure industry to attract investment and seek trustworthy Chinese partners.

     Mr. Ding Jianyi, the Secretary-General of China’s Bulk Cement Popularization and Development Association, delivered a speech. He was grateful to our foundation for providing this great platform to exchange ideas. He introduced the development trend of bulk cement industry and its market potential. He stressed that “One Belt and One Road” Initiative would promote further cooperation of bulk cement industry between China and different countries, and generally stimulate the development of the whole industry.

     Mr. Feng Wenli, the Chairman of Shandong Fangdakang Industrial Fiber Co. Ltd, gave a speech. He pointed out that his company has played an important role in the construction of country as China’s rapid economic growth. They are willing to work with our foundation, and promote the mortar technology to “Belt and Road” countries and African countries for mutual development.

    After the presentation, representatives from Chinese enterprises communicated with diplomats openly and freely by exchanging ideas and experience, and gained fruitful results.

    The salon ended in a pleasure atmosphere, which in response to President Xi’ call, and helps push the implementation of “One Belt and One Road” Initiative. In the mean time, it also provides an open, free and international platform for further exchanges between Chinese enterprises and “Belt and Road” countries, as well as lays a solid foundation for future cooperation. Our foundation will keep on acting as a bridge and help create a new platform for multi-agent, all-round, and multi-field win-win cooperation between China and “Belt and Road” countries.
