On the morning of May 26th, Mr. Zhang Zongwu, Secretary General of our foundation, was invited to the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines, and received warm reception from Mrs. Rhenita B. Rodriguez, the minister and consul of the embassy. Both sides had a pleasant conversation. Mrs. Dada Katrinaa. Decena, attaché of the Philippine Embassy, also attended the meeting.
The Secretary General first expressed his thanks to the warm reception from Mrs. Rhenita and mentioned that he had visited the Ambassador of the Philippine Embassy in 2015 and had established good friendship with the embassy since then. He noted, as the Philippines is one of the most important countries along the Silk Road, there is a large potential for bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Our foundation had established the One Belt and One Road Fund Management Committee in March this year, which would support China's pragmatic cooperation with counties along the route. Our foundation can provide favorable conditions for bilateral business exchanges by holding forums, promotions, salons, or business trips as well as other economic and trade activities, and we look forward to deepening cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in various fields.
Mrs. Rhenita warmly welcomed our visit and appreciated our contributions in promoting international trade exchanges. She mentioned that the embassy was very willing to promote the investment climate and make effort to bilateral economic and trade interactions through participating in various economic and trade activities. At the same time, she look forward to learn more excellent Chinese enterprises and find suitable partners to cooperate through the platform provided by our foundation.
Then, both sides changed ideas on the operative mode of the One Belt and One Road Fund Management Committee. Our Secretary General expressed that the Committee is subordinated to and directly managed by our foundation. Through raising fund and setting specific fund, it aims to ensure the earmarked fund and assist countries along the Silk Road in their related projects construction and relevant service, as well as help related Chinese enterprises and international organizations.

The meeting ended in a pleasant atmosphere. This visit further enhanced the friendly relationship between our foundation and Embassy of the Philippines, which would help implement the Belt and Road Initiative, provide favorable conditions for future pragmatic cooperation in various fields as well as enhance cooperation between Chinese enterprises and Belt and Road countries.
