On the morning of July 10th, Mr. Zhang Yi, president of our foundation, was invited to visit the Embassy of the Republic of the Gambia., and received warm welcome from H.E. Mr. Dembo M. Badjie, both sides had a pleasant conversation and carried out in-depth exchanges regarding detailed information on specific projects. Ms. Mariam Khan-Jallow, Counsellor of the Gambia Embassy, also attended the meeting.
The President first appreciated the long-term support from the Embassy to our foundation and had an in-depth conversation with the Ambassador on future cooperation. Entrusted by the Embassy, our foundation would organize Chinese enterprises to have a business trip to Gambia, including fields in food processing, building materials, construction engineering, fisheries and so on. We also promotes pragmatic cooperation in various fields and provide relevant support with our own advantages in terms of the medium and long term cooperation between two sides proposed by the embassy.
The Ambassador extended his warm welcome to the visit of our President, hoping both sides would continue to maintain good exchanges and deepen cooperation in various fields. He mentioned that Gambia had huge market demand in construction, engineering, food processing and other fields, thus the investment prospect was promising and welcomed relevant enterprises to invest in Gambia. He also suggested that companies could cooperate in forms of partnership or joint ventures, etc. Gambian government would give preferential policies to promote win-win development. At the same time, he hoped that our foundation would be able to support local charitable foundation and medical institutions in order to help women, children and poor people solve practical problems.
The two sides exchanged views on cooperative schemes and reached a preliminary consensus. The talk ended in a pleasant atmosphere. The meeting promoted friendly relationship between our foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of the Gambia, contributed to the practical development of bilateral economy and trade, deepened the traditional friendship between China and Africa.
