China-Africa Economic and Trade Salon Took Place in Yuyang Hotel

“China-Africa Economic and Trade Salon—communication between Chinese entrepreneurs and diplomats from French-speaking African countries” took place in Yuyang Hotel at 4pm in August 5, 2015. Mr. Zhangyi, the President of China-Africa Friendly Trade and Economic Development Foundation made a speech, which declared the beginning of the salon.
The diplomats that were invited to the salon came from such countries as the Republic of Congo, Niger, Tunisia, Djibouti, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, Rwanda, Chad, Senegal, Algeria, Mauritius, Madagascar and Comoros. And Chinese entrepreneurs from more than 30 companies came to the salon.
Mr. Zhangyi said in his speech that the aim of our foundation is to raise funds to help and support the small and medium-sized Chinese companies to make more investment in and cooperation with African countries.
Mr. Ambassador of Benin to China gave a speech about the investment environment of Benin including its advantages, regional and multi-lateral contracts and treaties, cost factors as well as the concessional policies for investment. Besides, he also said that Benin which has a competitive labor price and a stable political and macro-economic environment is the market gate of Nigeria and UEMOA. Depending on some treaties, Benin holds the priority to enter the market of Europe and America. The companies investing in environment-protection and investment service in Benin will be given the special regulations besides the favorable terms.
Then, the ambassador of Djibouti to China delivered a short speech about the promising investment environment and monetary policy, which presented the desire for Chinese investment in Djibouti. He also pointed out that Djibouti is the second biggest port in Africa and the Djibouti currency is pegged to U.S. dollar, which ensures its stable value and hard currency.
The military officer of Cameroon to China, the rotating Chairman of the association of military officer, Mr. Betangane made a presentation on the security problems of Chinese people working in African countries. And he also talked something about the investment environment of Cameroon.
In addition, Chinese entrepreneurs also made speeches and presentations about Chinese companies. The deputy General Manager of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, Mr. Zhang Wenjin delivered a presentation about his company, which expressed their mission to realize Chinese strategies and improve the power of “China’s Railway” and “China’s Construction” in the world. China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation has undertaken and successfully finished lots of projects in African countries.
The representative of Blue Horizon Group, a large private company made a speech about the general situation, the competitive advantages and the future development road of the company. The representative also stressed that they have made a primary agreement with our foundation to cooperate on the project of “African Cultural Town” in Dongying, which will powerfully promote the local tourism.
After the speech, the diplomats and Chinese entrepreneurs made a free and friendly communication. Then they told their appreciation for the opportunity we offered for them to make a face-to-face talk and discussion. And they also expressed the desire for more chances and platforms from us. Finally, the salon come to the end with a happy and easy atmosphere.
