Secretary General Zhang visited Ilija Isajlovski, Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to
China, at the Macedonia Embassy on 27 October. They shared opinioned about bilateral trade
under the background of One Belt, One Road initiative.
Macedonia is located at the greater European area, at the crossroad of two major transportation
corridors, enjoys rich natural resources, and share free trade agreements with many countries and
regions. Ambassador Isaovski said that, Macedonia is among the first ones to support the One Belt,
One Road initiative. He introduced that Macedonian favorable investment policies, convenience
transportation and current bilateral trade. He encouraged Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Macedonia
and pay visits at their country.
Secretary General Zhang agreed with what Ambassador Isajlovski and said that, we hope to respond to
the One Belt, One Road initiative through the efforts of our institution, promoting the bilateral trade.
Secretary General Zhang said, there is a great potential in the bilateral trade, that Macedonia provides
very good investment policies, so our institution will introduce more Chinese entrepreneurs to get to know
the investment environment of Macedonia, and at the same time, to introduce Chinese products to the
Macedonian people. We hope to work with the Macedonian embassy together to promote the bilateral trade,
contributing to the One Belt, One Road initiative. Finally, Secretary General Zhang invited Ambassador
Isajlovski to visit our office to further discuss potentials of cooperation.
