In the morning on November 13, 2015, president Zhang Yi visited the
embassy of the Republic of Zambia to China and enjoyed the warm
welcome and reception of the new Ambassador Mrs. Winnie Natala
Chibesakunda.
First of all, Ambassador Chibesakunda expressed her welcome and
appreciation for the coming of president Zhang and she said Zambia,
like other African countries, need our association and foundation to
promote the economic exchanges between China and Zambia. In
addition, she expected to organize a trade fair through our association
to make communications with Chinese companies, especially with
the enterprises in agricultural products processing. And we will do our
best to meet the demands and fully serve Zambia embassy and
Chinese companies. Ambassador Mrs. Winnie Natala Chibesakunda
also said that they will talk with us about the cooperation in detail after
the “Forum on China-Africa Cooperation” in South Africa in December.
President Zhang expressed his warm welcome to Ambassador
Chibesakunda for taking office and invited her to the4th “SinoAfrica
Friendly Night” in 2016, which is a large conference between Chinese
enterprises and African diplomats. Mr. Mulenga, the first secretary said,
Zambia embassy will supply some investment and trade projects in the
conference. Besides, president Zhang mentioned that our foundation
will sponsor some African students to study in China and it will be highly
appreciated if good students can be recommended from the embassy,
which received the appreciation and high value of Ambassador
Chibesakunda. President Zhang also mentioned that our association has
been keeping a good relationship with African embassies for a long time
and the exambassador of Zambia, Mrs Gertrude Kasuba Mwape was in
a good cooperation with us when she was in the position. In the following
days and years, we will continue to keep a good and friendly cooperation
with Zambia embassy to jointly assist Chinese companies to invest in
Zambia.
In the end, president Zhang expressed his blessing and wishes to
Ambassador Winnie Natala Chibesakunda and made a common expectation
to join hands with each other to promote the economic exchanges
between China and Zambia as well as to deepen the longterm friendship
between our two nations.
Other members present at the meeting include Mr. Yu Shining, the director
of the International Liaison Department of our foundation, Miss Yue Ating as
well as Mr. Bonaventure Mulenga and Mr. Nicholas Bweupe, the first Secretary
of Zambia embassy in China.
